Akis a Petros Nedelkos
In the Nedelkos family, Greek cuisine is passed down – and now they're bringing it to Bageterie Boulevard too.
Brothers Akis and Petros Nedelkos run the popular Greek restaurant Taverna Olympos in Žižkov together with their father – the family business has operated in Prague since 1997, when it first opened in Pohořelec.
Their story is a typically family one: a Greek father, a Czech mother. The family grew up in Thessaloniki and later returned to Prague, where the father opened his own restaurant. Both brothers came to cooking naturally – they started helping out on the line as soon as they came of age, and they've stayed at the family stove ever since. Cooking has been part of their lives since childhood.
Memories of their childhood in Greece stay with the brothers to this day – whether it's the smell of gyros that followed them through the streets of Thessaloniki, or the traditional Lemonato chicken. It's precisely these memories that inspired the Chef Menu Olympos they created for Bageterie Boulevard. In it, the brothers work with typical Mediterranean ingredients and flavors they know from childhood and from their travels around the Greek islands.
At Taverna Olympos, the brothers take turns in the kitchen every day, jointly overseeing the quality of the daily menu – with the same care they brought to preparing the Chef Menu Olympos for Bageterie Boulevard.
The new Chef Menu Olympos tastes like a piece of Greece. From baguettes and wraps with gyros or Lemonato chicken to Greek salad, fig yogurt, and refreshing frappé. All of it prepared for you by chef brothers from Thessaloniki, Akis and Petros Nedelkos.
